Troop Profile
Troop 579 is in the Northern Lights District of the Viking Council of
Minnesota. We are chartered by the Rudolph Priebe American Legion
Post #172 located at 260 4th Avenue SE in Osseo, Minnesota.
Our Troop meets every Monday throughout the year. The last Monday of
each month is dedicated to the parent committee meeting where all parents
of the scouts are invited and encouraged to attend.
Troop 579 participates in many district activities such as Camporees,
long term camps at Many Point Scout Camp and many volunteer opportunities.
There are several Scout Camps available to us such as Rum River Scount
Camp near Anoka, Stearns Scout Camp near Clearwater and Many Point Summer
Scout Camp near Park Rapids. In addition, we use many of the State and
local parks for our campouts and activities.
